Rosa Dávila, the president of the Cabildo, announced that the roads leading to the park will remain closed if the snowfall persists. Low temperatures overnight in the mountainous areas surrounding Mount Teide have exacerbated the situation, leading to the formation of ice on the roads. Additionally, strong winds have been recorded, with gusts surpassing 100 km/h at the Izaña Observatory, further complicating the cleanup efforts. Dávila indicated that the reopening of the park’s access roads is contingent upon the weather.
