Fedola Family Run 2025: A Celebration of Community and Charity

On Saturday, October 25th, the vibrant streets of Costa Adeje came alive as families and athletes gathered for the fourth edition of the Fedola Family Run 2025. This event, organized by the Fedola Group, attracted nearly a thousand participants and successfully raised €18,000, all of which will be donated to three local Canarian NGOs. The atmosphere was filled with excitement, camaraderie, and a shared commitment to supporting those in need, making it a memorable day for all involved.

Engaging Activities for All Ages

The day kicked off with a series of children’s races, designed to engage the youngest participants. Categories ranged from crawling babies to teenagers, allowing children of all ages to partake in the festivities. A notable feature of the event was the two-kilometre family race, which encouraged parents and their children to run together, making it the only race in Tenerife that promotes family participation. This unique aspect not only fostered a sense of togetherness but also instilled a love for physical activity in the younger generation.

In addition to the family-focused activities, the event included a charity walk, appealing to those who preferred a more leisurely pace while still embracing the spirit of solidarity that defines the occasion. This walk provided an opportunity for participants to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Costa Adeje while contributing to a worthy cause, reinforcing the event’s commitment to community involvement.

Showcasing Local Athletic Talent

The main races, covering distances of 5 and 10 kilometers, were launched with lively performances from the Tropicana samba group. Participants navigated the challenging Ocean Cross circuit, which features a mix of asphalt and sandy terrain along Playa del Duque, catering to both amateur runners and seasoned athletes. The scenic route not only tested the runners’ endurance but also showcased the stunning beauty of the Canary Islands.

Aday Salas and Marta Arnay emerged as the champions of the 10 km race, while Alejandro Rodríguez and Diana Pérez claimed victory in the 5 km category. Their achievements highlighted the impressive talent present in the local athletic community, as the event was part of the Tenerife Athletics Federation circuit. The competitive spirit was palpable, with participants pushing their limits and striving for personal bests, further enhancing the event’s reputation as a premier athletic gathering.

Strengthening Community Bonds and Future Goals

Victoria López, president of the Fedola Group, expressed that the Fedola Family Run has evolved into a highly anticipated event, serving as a gathering point that embodies sportsmanship, solidarity, and the organization’s core values. She noted that the event strengthens internal connections among employees who participate or volunteer, while also aiming to create more opportunities for the community. This focus on community engagement reflects the Fedola Group’s commitment to making a positive impact beyond just the fundraising aspect of the event.

Ana Belén López, vice president of the Fedola Group, highlighted the growing success of the fundraising efforts, which surpass previous totals each year. She emphasized the satisfaction derived from knowing that the funds raised will benefit various vulnerable groups, including single mothers, migrants, and the elderly. The donations will support three organizations: the Anchieta Social Reintegration Association, the Nahia Assistance Association, and the Quesada Sánchez Family Foundation, all of which focus on inclusion and support initiatives on the islands. This commitment to local charities ensures that the event has a lasting impact on the community.

The event concluded with a medal presentation and the distribution of charity cheques, attended by notable figures such as Manuel Luis Pérez, Councillor for Territorial Policy of Adeje, and Juan Hernández, General Commander of the Civil Guard in the Canaries. Their presence underscored the importance of community support and recognition for such initiatives. The success of the event was made possible through the collaboration of the Adeje council and the CanaryRun team, who managed the technical and sporting aspects of the races, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participants.
