The management of the Altavista Refuge, perched at the summit of Teide, is set to be handled exclusively by Teleférico del Pico del Teide. The Cabildo of Tenerife launched the tender process for the operation and maintenance of the Altavista Refuge in September of last year. In the first year of operation, the general ticket price is set at €71. This price is expected to increase to €83.61 by the tenth year. For local residents, the initial ticket price will be €29, with a projected rise to €34.15 over the same period. Additionally, federated users, who may include members of various organizations, will see starting prices of €56.80, which will increase to €66.89 by the end of the decade. This pricing structure reflects a commitment to making the refuge accessible while also ensuring the financial viability of its operations.

Enhancing Connectivity with Starlink

A noteworthy aspect of Teleférico’s proposal is the plan to provide internet access at the Altavista Refuge.
